PSP Plate

One of the most widely used types of dental imaging systems utilizes a phosphor imaging plate technique.  PSP (Phosphor Storage Plates) store digital images that are easily integrated into a pc or computer network for sharing.  A PSP plate is much more forgiving than their inflexible digital sensor counterparts.  PSP plates are used for dental X-ray imaging using the process of computed radiography as opposed to the photographic plate using film. The PSP plates greatest advantage over film is that they can be used over and over again with minimal degradation of your dental imaging.
PSP plates are essentially phosphor plates for dental radiography and are used in a similar method as film.  The main difference from film is that you are not using a processor and unnecessary chemicals are eliminated.  A PSP plate doesn’t have to be handled as carefully as film when retrieving the images.  Once you have digitized the image you must erase the PSP plate before reuse.  A PSP Plate will deliver diagnostic quality, high resolution dental images in mere seconds for thousands of uses.   Our dental phosphor plate systems will accurately read the latent dental X-ray image on a phosphor storage imaging plate (PSP).  Phosphor imaging plates are an economical option for intraoral imaging and their rail thin design with zero cabling or wires makes them extremely user friendly.

Ultra thin PSP plates are perfect for dental patients who are timid about the vast myriad of dental equipment being inserted into and around their mouths.  Our PSP plates have been ergonomically designed with smooth rounded corners which are more comfortable than digital x-ray sensors.  Both options are perfectly suitable for your dental imaging needs depending on certain patients.  Having multiple methods for getting a digital x ray is also a great backup plan in case one breaks or malfunctions.  In a fast paced dental practice it never hurts to have redundant processes in place for often used dental imaging equipment.  Do not let your dental practice work flow be interrupted because you don’t have spares on hand.  Breaking up the lifecycle of a patient visit will only cause the dental procedure to come to a screeching halt. Money and profit margins are definitely shrinking when a dentist cannot access the dental images so they can be shared with the patient.
Dental Imaging is easily the most highly visible and recognized activity in any dental practice. Radiographs are a crucial factor for a successful dental treatment plan.  Think about how often dental imaging interacts with and impacts your patients?  Dental Radiographs improve diagnosis, and digital record keeping is made easier for insurance purposes.  But their greatest impact occurs during patient evaluation, where the dentist interacts with the patient and dental assistants to quickly outline a treatment plan reflecting the dental images.
