A CBCT Scan or Dental cone beam computed tomography is a special type of x-ray equipment that produces three-dimensional images of the mouth to help form a more accurate diagnosis. While these scans are mostly used for orthodontic purposes, they are also commonly used to detect, measure and treat tumors in the jaw.
This technology makes it possible to detect the tumor’s shape, size, and location in a noninvasive and painless alternative to the later. The CBCT scan is also used to measure the progress and effectiveness of the treatment by comparing the results of the scan.
