'Some people make things happen,
Some people watch things happen,
Some people simply wonder what happened…
WE MAKE THINGS HAPPEN"
Mission Statement:
Video Dental Concepts (VDC) mission is to bring new ideas and concepts to the field of dental imaging; to develop, test and 'roll out' new innovative imaging products for the dental practitioners; to market, service, and repair these outstanding products with a firm commitment to quality and to provide personalized customer support and extended warranty programs through our unique service plan.
Credentials:
VDC as a manufacturer: VDC began in the dental imaging business in September 1989 when the company introduced the first component based Intraoral Video Camera (IOVC). The (OVS) was a dental endoscope developed in partnership with Panasonic Corporation. It was first exhibited at the SITAD Dental International show in Paris, France, and made its North American debut at the South Carolina meeting in Myrtle Beach in May 1990.
Since that time, thousands of Intraoral Cameras inspired by our now famous Oral VideoScope have been sold in the US and Canada. These included Oralvision, Accucam, Intracam, Insight, Ultracam, and Telicam to name a few manufactured in the early days. Through the years, VDC has been instrumental in the improvement of IOVC technology: first Multi-Op systems (AVS), first camera with memory (MedCam), first light bulb camera (Videoscope 2000), first LED camera (MiniCam) and first USB camera (MiniCam USB), see our camera timeline.
These improvements benefited VDC but also other camera manufacturers which implemented our many features resulting in the smaller, more performing cameras you see today. VDC is always striving to remain on the cutting edge by developing new imaging devices and this includes Digital X-ray sensors like RSV Mac, and Digital Panoramic sensors like Retropan. Our goal is to offer dentists the most technologically advanced imaging devices and systems available.
VDC as a facilitator and industry leader: VDC through Denterprise International, Inc., its affiliated company, has acted in other capacities including consultant, marketer, agent, and distributor for other leading imaging companies such as Trophy (France) -- now Kodak (US), Planmeca (Finland), Sopro (France) -- now Acteon Group, O'wandy (France), DSI (Japan), Sometech (Korea), RF SYSTEM lab (Japan), Flow X-ray (USA), Oy Ajat (Finland), Visiodent (France), Suni Imaging (USA), DentalEye (Sweden), Cefla (Italy), Italia Medica (Italy), MyRay (Italy), and Dentron (USA).
Claude Berthoin, our Founder and President, has registered many dental devices with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 510K submissions for device approval are necessary before new devices are marketed to the dental field. Just 'Google' Claude Berthoin to view some of the filings.
VDC's commitment to the dental field: Our products have been evaluated by CRA and featured in six newsletters published by the famous and most respected independent lab in the world now called the CR Foundation. We are constantly listening to our approximate 5,000 users, as well as many opinion leaders in the dental industry with whom we meet on a regular basis. We are members of the DTA, Dental trade Alliance, and are frequent posters on Dentaltown.

About The Founder - Claude Berthoin:

Claude has been instrumental in bringing intra-oral technology to the dental community. He is the co-inventor of the Oral VideoScope (OVS), the first component Intra-Oral camera on the market. He is directly responsible for many applications in dental imaging, including the first multi-op systems using AVS (Audio Video Systems) consisting of post mounted TV arms, monitor and infrared headset back in 1990. Additionally, he is credited with the collaborated development of five other cameras, VideoScope 2000, Toothpix (first bulb in hand-piece cameras), MiniCam (first LED and patient use camera), QuickCam DDS (also known as CompUCam), Logicam, as well as the DiscoveryCam.
